Court Jails 15 Chinese For Cybercrime In Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the conviction of 15 Chinese nationals for cyberterrorism and internet fraud in Lagos.

According to a statement by the EFCC, the suspects were sentenced by two Federal High Court judges, Justice Ayokunle Faji and Justice Dehinde Dipeolu, sitting in Ikoyi.

The convicted persons include Ling Yang, Xiao Hong Will, Wang Zheng Ming, Wang Jia Qi, Yang Sheng, Peng Sen Lin, Guo Xiao Fei, Chen An Shun, Zhao Ying Bin, Yu Zi (aka Wei Xue Huan), Zhang Yang, Wang Zhi Cheng, and Lu Yubo.

The EFCC said the men were arraigned on separate charges related to cybercrime and internet fraud.

This latest judgment comes just weeks after 14 other Chinese nationals were sentenced for similar offences in Nigeria.
