Suspected Witch Allegedly Flying Back from Meeting in Benin Trapped by High Tension in Calabar (Photos)

A shocking incident unfolded this morning along New Airport Road near Poultry Farm in Calabar, where a man was found dead after being electrocuted by high-tension power lines, IgbereTV reports.

The bizarre nature of the incident has left the community divided, with some claiming supernatural involvement while authorities suspect criminal activity.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the victim’s body hanging from the power lines in what many described as a gruesome and unnatural scene. Emergency responders later retrieved the remains, but not before wild rumors began circulating. Some residents insist the deceased was a suspected witch who had been flying back from a nocturnal meeting in Benin before being “trapped” and electrocuted mid-air. Others, however, dismissed the supernatural claims, suggesting the victim may have been a vandal attempting to steal or tamper with the high-voltage cables.

Officials from the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) had warned against the dangers of interfering with power infrastructure, noting that electrocution from such attempts is not uncommon. Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation, urging the public to avoid speculation until forensic examinations are completed.

The incident has stirred intense debate across social media, with some users sharing eerie tales of witchcraft while others crack dark jokes about the situation. As tension simmers in the community, authorities are working to determine whether this was a tragic accident, a criminal act, or something even more inexplicable.
