The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has confirmed that it carried out a targeted airstrike in Gaza City, eliminating senior Hamas commander, Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa.
According to the IDF, Al-Issa was a founding member of Hamas’ military wing and played a significant role in planning the October 7 massacre.
The details of the airstrike are; the IDF reported that Al-Issa was “eliminated” during an operation in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City.
Al-Issa led Hamas’ force build-up and training, and planned the October 7 massacre, which resulted in the deaths of 1,163 Israelis and foreigners.
As Head of Combat Support, Al-Issa advanced aerial and naval attacks against Israelis.
“The IDF & [Israel Security Agency] will continue to locate and eliminate all terrorists involved in the October 7 massacre,” the IDF posted on X on Saturday evening.
Palestinian reports suggest that Al-Issa was killed along with his wife and grandson, although this has not been independently confirmed.
The IDF later confirmed Al-Issa’s death.
