A tragic incident occurred yesterday in Udei, Guma LGA, Benue State, where four mobile police officers were killed in an ambush.
According to Queen-Eva Doosh, the police had been deployed to the Udei community and warned locals against taking matters into their own hands, insisting there were no armed Fulani herdsmen in the area.
However, locals cautioned the police that an ambush was being planned. Ignoring the warning, the police proceeded, while the youths stepped back to allow them to handle the situation.
Tragically, when the police fired a warning shot into the air, the attackers responded with deadly force, killing four officers on the spot.
