Residents of Obeagu community in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have cried out to the public for help locating an Hausa guy who allegedly scammed them in guise of setting a network mask for them.
Our correspondent gathered that the said Hausa guy identified as Philibus Danladi through his bank details, demanded money from the villagers promising that he’d go get the MTN company to come set the mask for them.

According to a villager, Izuchukwu Alu, Danladi stopped responding to messages and calls after he got the N25k and hasn’t been seen since then.
Alu said; ” Hausa guy came to my community and told us that he was setting Network Mast in communities that’s lacking network.
“We were happy since that is one of the major problems we hv in our community, we showed him some areas considered to be good for the antenna.
“He took pictures and video coverage of the places and left, when he got back he began to tell us that he is just an agent that we should pay him a commission before he can come with the materials and after that we will equally settle him while we do our normal agreement with the MTN company.”
He further explained that the villagers were convinced and glad about the offer since it was one of their most pressing needs in the village. He stated that they were ready to get it through any means possible.
He continued; “Since we are in need of the Mast by every means available we agreed to all his ideas and made the payment”.
“Since then, he’s no longer picking up his calls and all messages sent to his WhatsApp were all ignored by him.”
The villagers and residents of Obeagu are therefore, asking help locating Philibus Danladi with the phone number 0903 238…..
Alu further lamented that the villagers are traumatized to have been defrauded by “an Aboki man”.
He added; “please, what should we do? Our community is traumatized by such fraud from an Aboki man, his name is Philibus Danladi and we made the payment in a GT bank account. Here is his phone number
0903 238……”
