FG Finally Redeems House Pledge To ’94 Eagles

After 31 years, the Federal Government of Nigeria has finally fulfilled its pledge of house allocations to members of the Super Eagles that won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia.

This was announced on Wednesday 25 June 2025 via a statement on the website of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

During a brief ceremony, former striker Efangwu Goziem Ekoku (one of the beneficiaries) represented by his niece Lisa Jenifer Nwagbogun, was presented with an allocation letter for a house in Abuja.

Pemi Temitope, Director/HOD Public Building and Housing Development, presented the letter on behalf of the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa.

Temitope described the move as part of government’s commitment to reward the patriotic service of the team, which brought honour to Nigeria 31 years ago.

The houses are being allocated to members of the team in various states while some are receiving theirs in Abuja.
