Over 60 People Killed in an Israeli Missile Attack in the Iranian Capital

An Israeli airstrike allegedly targeted a residential area in Tehran, killing dozens of civilians including children, according to Iranian state media. Initial reports indicate at least 60 fatalities, with 20 children among the victims. Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations later updated the figures, stating the attack had killed 78 people and wounded 320 others in what he described as the first wave of strikes.

The attack comes amid escalating tensions between the two nations. Iranian state television broadcast messages urging citizens to unite in defense of the country, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on Iranians to oppose their government. The strike marks a significant escalation in the long-standing conflict between Israel and Iran, though Israel has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack at this time.

The residential complex, located in a civilian neighborhood of the capital, sustained heavy damage in the bombardment. Emergency crews were seen digging through rubble in search of survivors as hospitals reported being overwhelmed with casualties. The international community has yet to respond to the latest developments.
