ASITA Celebrates Amaechi at 60, Hails Him as Symbol of Resilience and Purposeful Leadership

Former Member of the National Assembly and 2023 APC Rivers West Senatorial Candidate, Rt. Hon. Asita Honourable, has extended heartfelt birthday wishes to former Minister of Transportation and two-term Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, CON, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

In a statement personally signed and released on Tuesday, Mr. Asita described Amaechi as a “symbol of resilience, courage, and purposeful leadership,” noting the significant impact the former governor has had on both Rivers State and Nigeria at large.

“At sixty, you stand not just as a man who has journeyed through time, but as a symbol of resilience, courage, and purposeful leadership,” he said. “Your path has lit the way for many, and your unwavering dedication to service continues to leave an indelible mark on our nation’s story.”

Mr. Asita, a prominent political figure in Rivers State and leader of the Orashi region, expressed his admiration for Amaechi’s legacy and enduring influence in public service.

“Today, my family and I proudly join the chorus of voices celebrating your remarkable life,” he added. “May this Diamond Jubilee usher in deeper grace, renewed strength, and the quiet fulfillment that comes from a life well lived.”

Amaechi, who turned 60 on May 27, served as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Governor of Rivers State from 2007 to 2015, and Minister of Transportation under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

He remains a key figure in Nigeria’s political landscape, especially within the All Progressives Congress (APC), and a prominent voice in the politics of the South-South region.
