Barely few days after Cameroonian authorities and Nigeria suspended oil exploitation at the maritime border of Bakassi Peninsula, multiple bomb explosion have rocked the Atabong East community in Idabato subdivision killing 9 members of the Cameroonian Forces.
Eye witness statement revealed that the bomb exploded two times, causing serious damage to the oil installations.
Recall that Cameroonian Government suspended drilling of oil at the maritime border of Nigeria where both countries do oil exploitation, this was due to the abduction of the Divisional Officer of Idabato subdivision, Mr Ewane Rowland and his staff by armed separatists of the Dragon Fighter Marine, a group loyal to the Biafra Separatists in Nigeria.
Few weeks later the group released the pictures of the DO hanged and tortured.
Cameroonian Military Leader upon visiting Abana renamed Yabane the headquarters of the Rapid D’intervention Battalions, BIR declared shoot at sight and search for the abducted divisional officer.
The group demanded of 20 million naira, five boats from Cameroonian government before they will release the victims, the divisional officer has been released remaining his staff, the group said the government is yet to meet with their demands.
