A tragic incident has been reported at Tee-Cube Villa, a student residential area near Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State, where a student identified as Muiz allegedly took his own life by ingesting Sniper, a toxic insecticide.
The heartbreaking scene was shared on TikTok by a user named Adeshewa, showing bystanders attempting to save Muiz by pouring water on him and rushing him to the hospital.
Eyewitnesses told IgbereTV that, initial efforts to transport him via motorcycle were abandoned due to his deteriorating condition, and a minibus (“korope”) was eventually used to move him.
Social media users and witnesses suggest that the incident was triggered by a relationship breakup, not clinical depression. One user who was at the scene stated, “It’s not depression, his girlfriend left him… He doesn’t have parents, the only person by his side left him. Depression is real ooo.”
