The Enugu State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has revealed that it has set up machinery to carry out a comprehensive party restructuring from the national level down to the ward level. This was stated during the held at the party secretariat along Asata Road in the state.
According to ThankGod Ofoelue, Zonal Publicity Secretary (South East ADC), the State Working Committee (SWC) spoke about the ongoing restructuring process whereby other party stalwarts would be joining the party.
Hon. Prince Anyanwu, the State Secretary, through the state, local governments, and down to the ward levels. She also discussed the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held in Abuja and how the ongoing party restructuring at the national level will be carried out down to the ward level. She asked all members to act with honesty during this process.
To this end, the chairman advised the local government and ward chapters, as a matter of urgency, to return to their various localities to reorganize the party so that no one is left behind in the restructuring storm about to sweep across the party.
The SWC during the meeting commended the various local governments for their continued proactiveness, affirming that with such local government executives, the ADC will continue to grow from height to height.
The party decided to focus on peer to peer political education in order to orientate the people of the coming elections and the need for active participation in politics at various levels by every Enugu indigene.
Other resolutions reached include the plan of the SWC and SEC to collaborate and work closely with the South East Zonal Executive Council and the National Executive Council. The goal is to ensure the restructuring process is smooth and transparent at all levels.
The meeting, which was later in the afternoon, was ended with a motion by Hon. Gideon Omeh David, Chairman of Isi-Uzo LGA, and seconded by Hon. Izuchukwu Ugwu, Chairman of Igboeze South LGA.
