President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reassured Nigerians of his commitment to transforming the nation, boldly declaring that he knows the path to prosperity and will lead the country to the “promised land.”
Speaking during the APC National Summit shortly after receiving a strong endorsement from the APC Governors’ Forum, President Tinubu addressed the crowd with confidence and optimism.
“This is the only time that you can correct and not complain,” he said, expressing deep gratitude for the party’s support. “Toe, I owe you a whole world of gratitude — the endorsements today, the ‘carry go’ inspiration.”
In a moment that drew applause and chants from the crowd, someone shouted “Follow who know road,” prompting a spirited response from the president:
“I know road,” Tinubu affirmed. “And we will lead you on to that promised land. The resuscitation of the Nigerian economy is on course — it is here. The hope is standing before you. Take it on.”
He emphasized that his administration is laying a solid foundation for industrialization and national progress. “Nigeria will be industrialised; we will achieve our goals,” he said. “If only in the first two years we are where we are today, then the next two years will be great. We have the mission, we have the vision.”
Tinubu also addressed concerns raised by critics about the state of Nigeria’s democracy, particularly the dominance of the ruling party.
“To those saying one-party system is no good — it’s one party ruling and driving the aspirations of Nigerians. Where do they stand?” he asked. “You don’t blame a people bailing out of a sinking ship when they have no life jacket.”
The president concluded by noting that more members are expected to join the APC, describing the party’s growth and dominance as part of “the game.”
