Sleuths from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested a Nigerian national and recovered ₹4 crore worth 2.585 kgs of MDMA crystals from Soladevanahalli.
Acting on a tip-off that two African nationals living in a rented accommodation in Soladevanahalli are stocking up and peddling narcotics, CCB raided the house in the area on May 14. While Daniel Orange Okwosha, 40, hailing from Nigeria was arrested, the other suspect fled from the scene during the raid and is still at large.
The police said they had recovered 1.485 kg of white MDMA crystals and 1.1 kg of brown MDMA crystals, a mobile phone, a bike and other valuables.
The police said that while efforts were on to track down the other African national, the investigation was on to identify the source of the narcotics and the money for the accused to buy such a large quantity of narcotics.
Police said the duo had a wide clientele, and students from surrounding colleges and IT-BT employees in the city were their main customers.
