Governor Alex Otti has sent a strong message to kidnappers and other criminal elements operating in Abia State, warning that his administration will come down hard on anyone threatening the peace of the state.
Speaking during the April edition of “Governor Alex Otti Speaks to Abians”, the Governor said the government’s security outfit, Operation Crush, is active in all 17 local government areas.
“Some people who tested our will didn’t find it easy,” Otti said firmly, noting that the days of treating criminals with kid gloves are over.
He called on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, emphasizing that “security is everybody’s business.”
Governor Otti also stressed that without peace and order, the state’s efforts in infrastructure, healthcare, and investment would not yield meaningful results. “All the investments we’re making in infrastructure and healthcare would be meaningless if security is not guaranteed,” he added.
His remarks follow a recent series of successful police operations in the state, including the rescue of kidnapped victims and demolition of hideouts used by criminals.
