The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has disclosed that he wanted the removal of Siminalayi Fubara as Governor of Rivers State.
This was as he backed President Bola Tinubuโs declaration of a state of emergency in the oil-rich state.
Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu and members of the House of Assembly were suspended by Tinubu following months of political crisis in Rivers State.
But Wike while speaking on Friday in Abuja during a media parley with select journalists, said the presidentโs move saved Rivers from implosion, arguing that the decision to appoint a sole administrator following Fubaraโs suspension was a step in the right direction.
