In a decisive move to clear the air and set the record straight, the Senior Pastor of Power World Ministries International, Rev. Dr. Uche Ume, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Mr. Kel Armstrong Amobi, host and producer of the KAATalks Podcast. The demand: a full and public retraction of defamatory statements made against him in videos posted on social media between April 8th and 9th, 2025.
Through his legal counsel, Barr. Maxwell Opara (PhD) of Maxwell Opara & Associates (Chibunna Chambers), Abuja, Rev. Ume is also demanding that Mr. Amobi publicly acknowledge that the claims made in the said videos were false, misleading, and malicious.
“Recall that on the 8th and 9th of April 2025, you made several defamatory statements against Rev. Uche Ume,” the legal notice states.
Among the statements flagged as defamatory are the following:
• “His name is—I don’t know whether we will call him prophet, pastor or head reverend. His name is Reverend Uche Ume… the one you know, the one that sings and the Holy Ghost come down…”
• “There is nobody close to me that he hasn’t called, begging me to forgive him. But what he needs is to stop the staged miracles, false prophecies, and extortion.”
• “He is manipulating poor people in Ebonyi State, collecting money from children and their mothers.”
• “You’ve been ruining people’s lives with your so-called nonsense miracles and fake prophecies in Ebonyi, Aba, and other places.”
• “Do you know how many people may have lost their lives because of you?”
Rev. Ume’s legal team asserts that these statements are not only unfounded but have caused significant harm to his personal and ministerial reputation.
Accordingly, the following demands have been made:
1. An immediate retraction of all defamatory content across all platforms where the videos were posted.
2. A formal and unconditional apology, acknowledging the falsehoods and the harm caused.
3. A public clarification that the allegations were baseless and made in error.
“Failure to comply within 48 hours upon receipt of this letter will leave us with no option but to explore all legal remedies available to protect our client’s name and reputation,” the statement concluded.
Rev. Dr. Uche Ume remains steadfast in his calling and refuses to be distracted by attempts to tarnish his character or ministry. As always, the truth will prevail.
