Delta State College of Nursing Sciences, Agbor Delta State, is set to punish Nursing Student found guilty of posting video of where the student sang a rejection song against the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.
The school authorities in a statement issued on Thursday said student found guilty of posting the video on social media will face punishment.
IgbereTV reports that First Lady Oluremi Tinubu was in Delta State College Nursing Sciences on Tuesday, 25th of March for the Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme and diatribution of 10,000 Professional Kits (Crocs and Scrubs) to Midwives in each Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria South South Zone. During her visit, the Nursing Student was asked to sign along a song dedicated to the First Lady, calling her “Our Mother”.
The students in a response to the song rejected the First Lady, calling her “your mother”, referring to the Master of Ceremony.
“Na our mama be this ooo, we don’t have another, na our mama be this ooo, the MC sang” in response, the nursing student who were supposed to respond, “na our mama be this ooo” responded with “na your mama be this ooo”, rejecting Remi Tinubu as their mother. The video went viral on social media and made headlines. Irked over the video, the school authorities said any Nursing student found guilty of posting the video on their social media account will be facing possible punishment.
The letter dated 27th March, 2025 was signed by the School provost, Mrs. Evbodaghe Rita Ogonne.
