Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has charged his cabinet members, delivery advisors, and project teams to ensure the timely completion of all government projects. He gave the directive during a two-day projects review session, where over 40 presentations spanning multiple sectors were assessed.
Declaring the session open, Governor Eno emphasized the need for accountability and efficiency, urging commissioners and delivery advisors to take full responsibility for their respective projects.
“This is a delivery room, and we must get things done for the people who hired us to work for them. Our priority is to ensure that you follow through from start to delivery,” the governor stated.
The governor, who recently appointed six Delivery Advisors, reaffirmed their roles in overseeing specific projects and programs. He cautioned against internal disputes and encouraged teamwork to ensure the successful execution of government initiatives.
Key projects reviewed included the ARISE Compassionate Homes, Ibom LED Training and Empowerment, Ibom Convention Centre, AKBC House, Ikot Ekpene International Market, Industrial Park Development, the renovation of the State Assembly Building, Ewet Luxury Garden, and the Ibom Towers project.
Health-related projects assessed included the Model Health Centres, ARISE Dialysis Centre, Medical Corridor Development, Aviation Village, Airport Clinic, Ibom Specialists, and the Mother and Child Hospital. Updates were also provided on agricultural initiatives such as the Ibom Model Farms, farm settlements, and equipment leasing schemes.
Other areas covered included road construction, educational infrastructure, the Senior Citizens Centre, transportation, the Marine Terminal and beach development, the Sports Academy, and tourism initiatives.
Governor Eno set specific dates for the commissioning of completed projects and the flag-off of new ones, all scheduled to take place before May 29, 2025.
