The Kebbi State Government has conducted a mass wedding for 300 couples, providing financial and material support to help them start their new lives.
The ceremony, coordinated by the APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje and the Emir of Gwandu, took place at the Emir’s Palace in Birnin Kebbi.
This is the second mass wedding organized under Governor Nasir Idris’s administration.
The beneficiaries, drawn from the 21 local government areas of the state, received ₦180,000 each as dowries during the ceremony.
The solemnization of the marriage was conducted by the Walin Gwandu, Malam Muktar, assisted by other prominent Islamic clerics.
The committee responsible for organizing the wedding stated that all couples underwent medical screenings, while grooms were assessed to ensure they had a trade and shelter to support their wives.
