Former Governor of Abia State Governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has announced the passing of his father-in-law, Chief Sunday Okafor. In a press statement, Senator Kalu described Chief Okafor as a “bold, courageous, fearless, and selfless man” who dedicated his life to serving God and humanity.
Chief Okafor, aged 79, passed away peacefully after a brief illness. He was the beloved father of Mrs. Ifunanya Uzor Kalu, Senator Kalu’s wife. The family has requested that loved ones remember Chief Okafor in their prayers during this difficult period.
Funeral arrangements for Chief Okafor are currently being planned, with dates to be announced soon. As the family mourns the loss of their patriarch, they take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy of selflessness and devotion to God and humanity will endure.

aged 79 years.
He was the beloved Father of my dear wife, Mrs Ifunanya Uzor Kalu
He passed away peacefully today following a brief illness
He was a bold, courageous, fearless, and selfless man who was committed to the service of God and humanity.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him
