NNPP Sacks Kano State PRO For Anti-Party Activities

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has dismissed its former Kano State Spokesperson, Musa Nuhu Yankaba, over allegations of anti-party activities.

In a press statement released on Thursday, January 23, 2024, by party leaders from the Kawaji constituency in Nassarawa Local Government Area, Yankaba’s dismissal was attributed to his alleged betrayal of the party.

The decision to sack Yankaba came shortly after he made controversial remarks during an interview, claiming that both the party’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf were no longer members of the NNPP. Yankaba further asserted that the party, originally identified by its fruit logo, had been undermined by the leadership’s decision to adopt a new logo featuring a book.

He also alleged that the Kano State government was elected under the original NNPP and called on party leaders to prioritize unity to strengthen the party.

According to the statement, Yankaba was summoned on Wednesday to defend himself against allegations of betrayal but failed to appear before the party leadership.

This development underscores NNPP’s stance on internal discipline and loyalty as it seeks to maintain its organizational integrity.
