Earlier yesterday, the Executive Governor of Abia, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, inspected the ongoing reconstruction, expansion and beautification work going on along Bank Road, Umuahia, the State Capital.
Governor Otti went on the inspection tour after Laying the Wreath at the Aguiyi Ironsi Cenotaph, Ogurube Layout, Umuahia in Commemoration and Celebration of the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The ongoing expansion, reconstruction and beautification work is part of the intentional effort of Governor Otti to give Umuahia the esthetic ambiance it deserves as a State Capital and create easy access for the movement of people, goods and services within that axis of the State Capital which connects Abia State Government House from Enugu Port Harcourt Expressway.
Addressing a crowd of customers of First City Monument Bank (FMCB) who had gathered in front of the bank for a customer appreciation program organized by the bank, Governor Otti apologized to the people for the inconveniences caused by the ongoing work and assured that the work would be completed before the end of the month.
“Let me first of all apologize to all the people who are going through some inconveniences as we do this work. I have the understanding of the contractor that the entire work would be completed before the end of this month”, Governor Otti stated amidst chants of “Mr. Project” from the happy crowd.
Governor Otti was joined on the Inspection tour by the General Manager (GM) of Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA).
