Man Kills Mum, Sister And Grandma In Quest For Money In Nsukka

A shocking incident has rocked Amaeze Village in Nsukka Town, where a young man reportedly poisoned and killed four members of his family, including his mother, grandmother, sister, and his sister’s child, allegedly in a desperate bid for quick wealth through a ritual practice known locally as Okeite.

Reports indicate that the tragic event unfolded after the suspect followed instructions from a friend involved in Okeite rituals. The friend, hailing from Nsukka, allegedly introduced him to a native doctor residing in Agbani, though originally from Kogi State. The native doctor reportedly advised him to poison his mother to fulfill the requirements of the ritual.

However, on the day he planned to carry out the act, his grandmother, sister, and his sister’s child unexpectedly visited. Unaware of the danger, they all ate the poisoned food and tragically lost their lives.

A nine-year-old child, the only survivor of the incident, was rushed to the hospital but remains mentally unstable and is reportedly exhibiting signs of severe trauma.

The suspect, who confessed to the heinous crime yesterday, has asked for forgiveness amid widespread outrage and grief within the community.
