Explosion has killed several number of people at oil firm staff quarters in Atabong East area, Idabato subdivision of Bakassi Peninsula.
Eye witness said that a yet to be identified bomber suspected to be a member of the dreaded Biafra group known as Black Marine walked close to the quarters and threw the bomb where some military personnel’s attached to oil firms were holding meetings, about 7 officers died instantly while several others are in critical condition.
As if that was not enough, the separatists shot sporadically at the waterfront before fleeing.
Two civilians from Cameroon were killed in the blast.
The incident happened around 11:45am on Friday.
