Thirty-nine minors from Kaduna State, detained by the Federal Government for their involvement in the August nationwide protests, were reunited with their families on Wednesday.
In a gesture of support, the Kaduna State Government gifted each child ₦100,000 and an Itel A18s smartphone during the handover ceremony.
Governor Uba Sani, through the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Abdulkadir Muazu Meyere, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to rehabilitating the children and providing opportunities for their reintegration into society.
Dr. Meyere announced plans to empower the minors through start-up capital for trading, skills acquisition programs, and employment for eligible recipients. “The Governor promised that some will receive start-up capital for trading, others will undergo skills training, and some will be offered employment,” he said.
The initiative reflects the state’s efforts to provide meaningful support to affected youths and help them build productive futures.
