The Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, worldwide has saluted Dr Betta Edu on her 38th birthday, describing her as a compassionate and innovative Niger Delta Youth that cares for the vulnerable.

, IYC described the Minister as not just an embodiment of achievements but a good Ambassador of Nigerian youths, from the Niger Delta region.
“We join Nigerians across ethnic and religious divides whose lives have been touched by Dr Edu’s empathy and passion for the less privileged to celebrate her as she turns 38.
“We are extremely proud of our daughter’s achievements as Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation; she stands out in the crowd as an undaunted, compassionate, resilient, energetic and innovative Niger Delta youth with a passion to serve vulnerable Nigerians.
“As she turns 38, we wish her a blessed birthday and many more years of good health, happiness and service to humanity and Nigeria”, the statement said.
The IYC further urged Dr Edu never to falter or waver in her pursuit for a better society and new lease of life for the poor and downtrodden in line with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
“As our daughter celebrates yet another new year, IYC would want her to dedicate it to the poor in our society, we urge her to do as usual by dedicating her birthday to the pursuit of a better society and a new lease of life for the poor and vulnerable in our midst in line with the poverty alleviation policy which is the major component of the renewed hope agenda of Mr President”
The IYC commended Edu for leaving a trail of excellence in all public offices she has held, noting that she is a rare breed and role model for Nigerian youths from the oil-rich region.
“Whether as a Student Union Government Vice President at the Prestigious University of Calabar, Special Adviser on Community Health , Director General of Primary Healthcare Development Agency and Commissioner for health all in Cross River State, before moving to National Woman leader of a National political party or as Minister in the federal cabinet, Dr Edu not only distinguished herself but left an indelible mark of excellence,we want that to continue.
“She is a rare breed, a role model who has provided hope, mentorship and inspiration to millions of young people around the country.
“We do not doubt that our own Edu, the pride of Niger Delta, will keep the flag flying and keep making us proud”, the statement added.
