Nigeria’s Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, recently became a trending topic on social media after he was seen at the National Mosque in Abuja, attending Friday Jummat prayers alongside Muslim worshippers.
The sight left many Nigerians puzzled, as Akpabio is a well-known Catholic. His appearance led to a flood of questions about his participation, especially considering the religious diversity and sensitivities in Nigeria.
President Bola Tinubu and perennial presidential hopeful, Atiku Abubakar, met in Abuja, on Friday, October 25.
Both gladiators, who used to be political allies, were meeting face-to-face for the first time since the 2023 presidential elections.
Although the meeting created a frenzy among worshippers at the national mosque, several people online, especially on X (formerly Twitter), criticised the presence of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
