Abuja – Hon. Abubakar Adamu, APC North East Zonal Organizing Secretary, has emerged as the 2024 Youth Advocate of the Year.
Adamu secured 25,183 votes in a 13-day nationwide online poll monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), surpassing Aisha Yesufu (23,754 votes), David Hundeyin (19,431 votes), and Emediong Akpabio (7,886 votes).
In a profiling interview with IgbereTV, Adamu, who was the ruling party’s APC Zonal Youth leader from 2020 to 2022 revealed the humble beginnings of his philanthropic journey. “I started my NGO in SS2, paying school fees for the less privileged,” he shared, showcasing his long-standing commitment to empowering young individuals.
Adamu’s passion for creating positive change drives his advocacy. “I’m motivated by the desire to make Nigeria and the world a better place,” he emphasized.
The 6th Leadership Excellence Awards (LEEX), endorsed by the African Union and African Film Institute, will honor Adamu and other award winners on November 2, 2024 at the NAF Conference Hall in Abuja. Former Abia State Governor, Senator T.A. Orji, will chair the event, with former Ogun State Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, delivering the keynote address.
