Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo (PhD) has emerged as the winner of the 2024 Best House of Representatives Member in Empowerment at the 6th Leadership Excellence Awards (LEEX), garnering an impressive 81,976 votes. This prestigious award recognizes his outstanding contributions to empowering his constituents in Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency.
Ukpong-Udo’s victory was announced after a 13-day nationwide online poll monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He defeated other notable nominees, including Hon. Idris Salman (47,528 votes), Hon. Mansur Soro (29,611 votes), and Hon. Ghali Tijjani (9,462 votes).
The award will be presented to Ukpong-Udo and other winners during a grand ceremony at the NAF Conference Hall in Abuja on November 2. The event will be chaired by former Abia state governor, Senator T.A. Orji, with a keynote address by former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba.
Speaking with Igbere TV at the National Assembly, Ukpong-Udo said passion for humanity drives his empowerment programs, which have benefited numerous constituents. His initiatives include distributing vehicles, motorcycles, tricycles, and industrial sewing machines, scholarships, several humanitarian services as well as providing non refundable business grants. In a previous empowerment program, he doled out millions of naira worth of cash and empowerment items to his constituents
