Igbere, Abia State – The tranquil town of Igbere came alive recently as friends, family, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate Dr. Chima Anyaso’s birthday and the annual Iriji Ofuji festival. Themed “Successful Harvest in a Time of Scarcity,” the event honored God’s provision and protection during the farming season.
Dr. Anyaso, a renowned entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience leading a dynamic conglomerate, emphasized the significance of Iriji Ofuji. “This celebration brings our people together to thank God for His blessings,” he said.
The event commenced with a welcome address delivered by Chief Emeka Onuoha, chairman of the occasion. Highlights included the cutting of Dr. Anyaso’s birthday cake with Ahuoma Anyaso Foundation school children, special prayers for Dr. Anyaso, and a donation of food items and cash to the 13 communities of Igbere.
Dignitaries in attendance included His Royal Highness Eze Joseph Anyanta-Enyi Ezeji of Ibinaukwu Igbere, His Royal Highness Eze O. N Chukwu, Traditional Ruler of Okafia Igbere, Comrade Godswill Awara Okorie, PG IWU, Hon. Obike Imo Mascot, former Commissioner for Boundary Matters, Abia State, Hon. John Mark, former Deputy Chairman, Bende LGA, and Hon. Promise Uzoma.
The children also received gifts, spreading joy and kindness throughout the community. Iriji Ofuji is an integral part of Igbo tradition, symbolizing gratitude for the harvest season. Dr. Anyaso’s commitment to preserving this heritage has made the event a beacon of community spirit.
Anyaso was recently voted as 2024 Businessman of the Year. The award will be presented to him at the 2024 LEEX Awards holding at the NAF Conference Hall Abuja.
