Lady Who Took Mattress After Unpaid Hookup Gets N500K and Sewing Machine

In an unusual twist, a young woman named Blessing, who went viral for seizing a man’s mattress after he refused to pay for an all-night hookup, has received overwhelming support from well-meaning Nigerians.

Blessing, a mother of two from Benue State, captured attention when her story was shared widely on social media. The man she had spent the night with allegedly told her the next morning that he could not pay her.

Instead, he offered her his home theater system or his mattress as compensation. By morning, he left with the home theater, and Blessing decided to take the mattress and sell it. This incident was captured by a neighbor, quickly spreading online and sparking mixed reactions from the public.

In an interview with humanitarian worker Ukan P Kurugh, Blessing revealed that her journey into s*x work was driven by hardship. After her mother’s death and an early attempt by her father to marry her off, she ran away and eventually got married. However, her marriage did not last, and with two children to care for, she turned to the streets to make ends meet.

Blessing’s story took a positive turn when philanthropist Adoo Eugenia Ter highlighted her situation.

In response, concerned Nigerians donated N500,000 and provided her with a new sewing machine to help her start a business and leave the streets behind. The donations are expected to offer her a fresh start, enabling her to support her children and regain stability.

What began as a moment of desperation has now transformed into an opportunity for Blessing to rebuild her life.
