Pandemonium in Ohafia LGA As The Mayor Chief David Ogba Slaps Council Staff

A controversy has erupted at the Ohafia Local Government Area following an alleged incident of physical assault by the Mayor, Chief David Ogba Onuoha, against a senior staff member, Mr. Lekwa Okoire, Deputy Director of Administration.

Reports say, Mr. Okoire was allegedly slapped by the Mayor for using a restricted route while rushing to clock out.

According to eyewitnesses, “Mr. Okoire was rushing to clock out and inadvertently used a restricted route, prompting the Mayor to summon him. In a shocking display of aggression, Chief Ogba Onuoha slapped Mr. Okoire and ordered his detention at the police station.”

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation from staff and union members, who are demanding the Mayor’s accountability and the immediate release of Mr. Okoire from detention.

The LGA Staff Union has denounced the alleged assault as unacceptable and has called for swift action to address the situation. The incident has raised concerns about workplace safety and the conduct of public officials.

All efforts to speak with the Mayor proved abortive as at the time of this report.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
