Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu today commissioned the Raymond Estate and Sterling Heights housing project, a flagship initiative of the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) administration, led by the Executive Chairman, Mayor Dele Oshinowo.
The housing project, which was delivered in collaboration with private sectors aims to address the housing deficit in the state and provide affordable and quality housing for residents.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in achieving development goals. He praised the efforts of the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA administration, led by Mayor Dele Oshinowo, and private sector partners, Osita Homes and Sterling Heights, for their contributions to the project.
The Governor highlighted the state government’s comprehensive development agenda, which encompasses housing, healthcare, education, tourism, road construction, public transportation, and youth empowerment. He noted that the LCDAs and local governments have keyed into the program, resulting in consistent development across the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also acknowledged the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has made housing a cardinal objective of his administration. He expressed his excitement about the Renewed Hope housing estate, being developed in all states of the federation, including Lagos.
The commissioned housing project comprises 170 flats, bringing the total number of housing projects commissioned by the Lagos State Government in the last five years to 19 or 20, excluding those undertaken by local governments and LCDAs.
Governor Sanwo-Olu congratulated the people of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA and praised Mayor Oshinowo for his leadership, encouraging other local government chairmen to emulate his example. He thanked development partners, party leaders, traditional rulers, and staff of the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA for their support and contributions.
The Governor emphasized the transformative impact of the project, which will boost the local economy and contribute significantly to the overall economy of the local government. He assured that the state government will continue to provide affordable, safe, and secure accommodation for its teeming population.
In conclusion, Governor Sanwo-Olu officially commissioned and handed over the Raymond Estate and Sterling Heights to the people of Agboyi-Ketu, Lagos, and Nigerians, thanking Mayor Oshinowo for his achievements and promising to be available for future commissioning ceremonies.
Mayor Dele Oshinowo, Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, articulated his dedication to achieving substantial progress across all Governmental sectors. He expressed pride in announcing the inauguration of projects undertaken by the administration, including the unveiling of the Senator Bayo Oshinowo Administrative Building, the inauguration of Greenwich Gardens with Swarm, and the commissioning of Raymond Estate and Sterling Heights. Mayor Oshinowo emphasized the pivotal role his leadership plays in shaping grassroots governance, highlighting the numerous upcoming projects awaiting commissioning in the LCDA.
The housing initiative spearheaded by the administration, in collaboration with private sectors through the creation of the Agboyi-Ketu True Investment Board, aims to align with the Sustainable Development Goals by providing affordable, accessible quality housing to address deficits in the state.
This initiative not only showcases the activities at Agboyi-Ketu LCDA but also aims to enhance internally generated revenue. Furthermore, the administration places significant emphasis on infrastructure development to boost human capital and stimulate economic growth. The construction activities have generated numerous direct and indirect employment opportunities, particularly benefiting the youth and artisans in the community.
The construction of Raymond Estate and Sterling Heights exemplifies the positive outcomes of the strong collaboration with the THEMES Plus agenda of Governor Sanwo-Olu and the partnership with Budloka International Investor. Mayor Oshinowo underscored the importance of this historic occasion, emphasizing the structural composition of the buildings. Raymond Estate comprises 32 units of three-bedroom apartments, four-bedroom apartments, and two-bedroom apartments, while Sterling Heights comprises eight blocks of eight units, totaling 64 flats, four duplex apartments, 32 terraces, and two apartments, totaling 10 semi-detached units.
The administration’s foresight in innovation was acknowledged, with the introduction of a digital-oriented property registry to comprehensively document real estate assets.
The ongoing second phase of the Greenwich Gardens project and the technical review of the Lagos home in Ajelogo area were highlighted. The gathering of dignitaries and stakeholders in the LCDA marked the 7th anniversary of the administration, celebrating the unprecedented development across various sectors, establishing Agboyi-Ketu LCDA as a symbol of excellence.
In addition to the housing initiative, the administration’s efforts in infrastructure development, environmental stewardship, technology, and healthcare were commended.
The commitment to education was reflected in the construction and innovation of schools and school infrastructures, along with support programs for financially disadvantaged undergraduate students. The Relief Initiative Program aimed at uplifting vulnerable residents from poverty and supporting small-scale traders, with a meticulous beneficiary selection process devoid of political affiliations.
Mayor Oshinowo concluded by reaffirming the administration’s dedication to delivering good governance at the grassroots level in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, expressing confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership to restore Nigeria’s former glory.
He urged continued support for the administration and extended blessings to the people of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA and Lagos State, acknowledging the unwavering support of the Executive Governor of Lagos State for all projects in the LCDA.

The representative of Sterling Heights appreciated the Chairman for the partnership and everyone who played a role in achieving the project’s success.
