…distributes 2,700 bags of rice
The transition chairman of Essien Udim local government area Anthony Luke has stated that rather than join in any nationwide protest against government, the youths, women and men will continue to deliver support for the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno for eight uninterrupted years.
He said through constant peace and dialogue, his people believe they will always get the best of governance from Pastor Eno.
He made this pronouncements on Tuesday while delivering 2700 bags of rice and 270 bags of garri to 135 villages in Essien Udim.
Dr Luke appreciated the Governor for not just being a compassionate leader who has built compassionate homes for the vulnerable but for also giving inputs to farmers to encourage his back to farm initiative.
He said that Governor Eno is currently constructing a 17.5 km road linking Essien Udim and Etim Ekpo even after previously flagging off another road linking Okon clan to Ndot Ikot clan.
“I want to specially thank the president of the federal republic of Nigeria for gifting us these palliatives in such a critical time and our Governor Pastor Eno for doubling up the palliatives received from the federal government to ensure it is enough for the people”,he said.
He recounted that “Uyo senatorial district supported our brother in Essien Udim to serve as a Governor in Akwa Ibom for eight years and so we are also out to support the Governor, Pastor Eno who is from Uyo Senatorial District to carry out all his projects which cuts across the state and this will be for eight years.”
“The federal government has been fair to us, gifting our son the senate presidency, why should we protest”?
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Documentation Dr. Essien Ndueso commended the leadership of the area for embracing peace and assured that Governor Eno was ready to continue doing more for them.
In their respective remarks, the village head of Ukana Uwa East and the Coordinator Conference of village heads, Edidem Akpan Essien with delight thanked God to have been alive to witness such an initiative by both the Federal and State Governments and prayed God to bless the leaders.
