Ondo 2024: Widows' Association Endorses PRP Candidate, Babatunde Francis Alli

A non-governmental organization, the Voice of Widows, a conglomerate of widows and single mothers in Ondo State, on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, declared their support for Comrade Babatunde Francis Alli, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).

Addressing representatives of the widows’ association at the state Party’s Secretariat, Alli praised the women’s efforts in shaping the political future of Ondo. “You have a full say in the political system, as the power of women cannot be over-emphasized. I am committed to running an inclusive government, which is why we engage in comprehensive consultations to ensure all voices are heard,” Alli stated. He emphasized that their concerns and interests would be prioritized in his administration’s policies.

Alli urged the group to support the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), highlighting that it is the only party that is ideologically dedicated,m to the emancipation of the downtrodden, in contrast to other parties that prioritize only the elites. He outlined his party’s programs and principles, promising to tackle hunger headlong. We will address Infrastructure issues in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. “I am contesting due to the passion and vision I have for Ondo State, I am committed to salvaging Ondo from its pauperized state and will ensure grassroots development through Community Development Associations (CDAs), the Local government Areas administrations, having been destroyed” Alli assured.

Mrs. Mariam Azeez, speaking on behalf of the widows’ group, reaffirmed their support for Alli and the PRP. She pledged to publicize the party’s message and mobilize their community, expressing strong desire for political change. “We want a new Ondo with a new party that will take over and rescue the state,” Azeez declared, emphasizing the necessity of political action to save Ondo State.

This endorsement reflects a growing call for transformation and inclusivity in the state’s political sphere resulting in Allis growing popularity as he continues his engagements with different groups in the State.
