The year 2024 edition of the state-wide free medical and surgical outreach of the Kwara State Government has commenced today at the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH), Ilorin in Ilorin West Local Government Area of the State.
The medical and surgical outreaches are one of the avenues through which the State Government provides free health care to members of the community in the different local governments of the State.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, who monitored the outreach centre at KWASUTH, Ilorin, appreciated the health workers for driving Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s comprehensive health care agenda for the State.
The Commissioner who was in the company of the Chairman House Committee on Health and Environment, Hon. Razak Owolabi, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Hon Medinat Abdulraheem and other Stakeholders was received by Chief Medical Director of KWASUTH, Dr Ahmed Bola.
The medical experts under the headship of Dr. Musiliu Odunaya, who is the Director of Medical Services and Training at the Kwara State Ministry of Health, described the turnout as very impressive despite the heavy downpour today.
Dr Odunaya said those who require specific interventions like general surgery, eye surgery and glasses have been allocated to their respective care givers for comprehensive treatments.
In his remarks, the Chairman House Committee on Health and Environment, Hon Razak Owolabi, appreciated the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the initiative and the quality of services being rendered to citizens which will be replicated in all the sixteen Local Government Areas of the State.
The free medical and surgical outreach team will move to Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area of the State next week Thursday 13th June, 2024.
