The Lagos State Police command says the number of casualties that occurred following the collapsing of a mosque at the Papa Ajao area of the state is still unknown.
IgbereTV earlier reported that the mosque collapsed on Sunday while worshipers were observing afternoon prayers.
Several lifeless bodies were recovered from the rubble, while those injured have been rushed to hospitals.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin told DAILY POST that efforts are still on to remove bodies of those trapped in the rubble.
“It happened in Papa Ajao, Mushin. Efforts on to remove people from the rubble.
“Figures cannot be ascertained yet”, the PPRO said in a text message to IgbereTV on Sunday evening
