Edo State Peoples Democratic Party Chieftain, Chief Sunny Okomayin has felicitated the party’s 2024 governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu over his victory at the primaries last Thursday.
Recall Okomayin last Thursday suffered a gunshot wound on his arm when state-sponsored security operatives attacked the deputy governor’s men in a bid to shut them from conducting the election.
Reacting to the announcement of the deputy governor as the party’s governorship candidate after polling 301 legitimate votes, Chief Okomayin lauds the deputy governor’s courage and believes this victory is what the good people of Edo deserve.
“Congratulations, your Excellency, on your victory. You didn’t give in to oppression and intimidation and you gave it a good fight.”
“Thank God the delegates have strong faith in you and they trust your capacity to deliver by the grace of God after emerging as the governor of our state in September’s election.”
“I want to assure you of my continued support in this course. Now is the time to bring back everyone under the big and adorable umbrella of our party to enable us more robust campaign and coast home to victory in September.”
