Two Killed, Woman Kidnapped As Gunmen Storm Ikorodu

Tragedy struck in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State as gunmen attacked the Alagemo community of Igbelaara, off Ijede road, resulting in at least two fatalities and the kidnapping of an unidentified woman.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, with four members of a vigilante group sustaining injuries during the attack.

According to reports, the gunmen invaded Alagemo community, leaving a trail of violence and chaos.

A video clip circulating on social media captured the voice of a resident raising the alarm about the ongoing kidnapping and shooting in the Igbe-Alagemo area.

“Kidnapping is happening right now in Igbe-Alagemo. What is all this? They have kidnapped two people. They are in the bush; they are the ones shooting,” the voice in the video expressed concern.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident on Thursday, providing official details of the attack.

Hundeyin stated that “two persons died, four others were injured, and one woman was kidnapped” during the violent episode in Ikorodu.

The motive behind the attack and the identities of the victims and perpetrators are yet to be disclosed.

The unfortunate event adds to the growing concerns about security challenges in various parts of Nigeria
