The Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi State has asked the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in the State, Chief Oguzorkanu Offia-Nwali to return the money meant for Ebonyians or he will petition him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
He accused the Honourable Commissioner of using the money he made from the poor hawking children to facilitate works on his hotel building at number 8, Aguiyi Ironsi in Abakaliki.
According to Chika Nwoba, “Ebonyi State Government should review the list of those this thief and his acolytes claimed to have received the N2 million hawkers’ money, each and tell us if one Ngozi Aligwe from Amalekwuna, Ameka, Ezza South LGA, same community the thieving Commissioner is from was a hawker to have made it to the list through th-ief Oguzo. The girl should be invited to give account of how th-ief Oguzo Offia Nwali collected N1.9 million from her and left her only with N100,000. This singular case can give further details on how this th-ief and his accomplices messed up the whole empowerment process. Ngozi Aligwe is a young girl living with her family in Ezza South. Her immediate elder brother is a lawyer working as legal aide to the th-ief Oguzo. While I prepare other proofs of my allegation against him for release, this particular girl should be used as a case in point. She should be asked who nominated her and how much she was given later by the thief. I’ll avail myself for the probe of this particular case. I shall publish other names this th-ief used to commit the graft.”
IGBERE TV had reported that Chika Nwoba accused the Honourable Commissioner of Commerce in the State, Chief Oguzor Offia-Nwali of looting over 600 Million Naira fraud.

In a post he shared on his official Facebook page, Chika Nwoba said it’s unfortunate that Oguzo Offia could divert the money meant for hawking children as the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Ebonyi State for personal use.
He revealed that 100 slots were released to Ebonyi hawkers in Anambra State and what Oguzo did was to bring in 60 fake names and allowed only 40 from Anambra to be part of the money. I have evidence about how Oguzo generated passports from primary school pupils in Ezza South as hawkers. I know the person he used to generate the passports. He made N120 million from the one of Anambra alone. I’m not even talking about the deductions he made from lists of other cities.
He further accused Oguzo Offia of acquiring a new Hilux SUV and other vehicles including police escort from the fraud money.
According to him, “As son of a late prominent Senator, everyone thought he was going to act better. He has made at least N500 million from this programme – money meant for poor people roaming the streets of different cities of Nigeria. I’m calling on Governor Nwifuru to probe the humongous fraud by Oguzo and involve EFCC in prosecuting him. It’s evil of him feeding fat from the largesse meant for the poor. By this action, he has negated the protest that calls for the involvement of young people in the business of governance. If he could commit this kind of heist in his late 30 years, one wonders what he would be doing in the cause of the administration as Commissioner.”
“I reported him to the Governor this evening and the Governor didn’t feign ignorant of it as he told me he was going to chair the next tranche. He told me that he would probe him as strong evidences have been brought against him.”
Meanwhile, the Honourable Commissioner of Commerce and industry, Chief Offia -Nwali has released a statement over the allegation levelled against him by Chika Nwoba.
In a statement obtained by IGBERE TV, Chief Offia-Nwali gave Chika Nwoba 48 hours to retrieve and retract his malicious and unfounded criminal allegations against his person and issue a public apology using the same means he employed in his publication, failure of which he would leave him without any other choice than to instruct his lawyers to initiate a petition against him to the relevant authorities .
He described Chika Nwoba as a hungry facebook blackmailer and attention seeker.
