In Imo State, a middle-aged man fell victim to a brutal attack by armed individuals believed to be herdsmen, leaving him severely wounded with machete cuts.
While the precise location remains unconfirmed, a video obtained by SaharaReporters on Tuesday depicts the injured man receiving medical attention in a hospital.
Reports indicate that the man’s life was endangered when he confronted the herdsmen, urging them to vacate his farm due to the damage caused by their cattle to his crops.
The distressing video reveals the bloodied aftermath of the assault, with injuries evident on the man’s head, arms, and neck.
A voice in the video says the man was attacked on his farm by “Fulani herdsmen”.
“The man was attacked by Fulani herdsmen. We thank God that he was brought to the hospital on time. You can see the deep cuts they gave him in the neck, head and arms. With this, you tell that they had the intention to kill him.”
Meanwhile, efforts made by SaharaReporters to get the reaction of the spokesman for the state police command, ASP Henry Okoye were unsuccessful as he did not answer his calls.
He had also not replied to the text message sent to him at the time of filing this report.
