In March, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to engage in a friendly match against Argentina.
The Argentinian Football Association (AFA) unveiled this fixture through an official statement on its website earlier this week.
As part of their “friendly tour of China,” reigning world champions Argentina will participate in a series of matches scheduled between March 18 and 26.
The kickoff of this tour will see Argentina facing the Super Eagles at the Olympics Sports Center stadium in Hangzhou.
The scheduled date for the upcoming encounter has not been disclosed yet.
Following this, the Albiceleste is set to face the Ivory Coast in Beijing for a second game, concluding the tour.
“The Argentine National Team already knows the rivals it will face in the friendly tour of China, to be played from March 18 to 26,” the statement reads.
“Lionel Scaloni’s team will face Nigeria at the Olympics Sports Center stadium in Hangzhou.
“The second match will be against the Ivory Coast at the Workers’ Stadium in Beijing.
“The date of both meetings will be announced in the next few hours.”
The Eagles are currently competing in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast and have successfully secured their place in the quarter-finals. Their upcoming match on Friday will be against Angola.
On the global stage, Argentina stands as the reigning world champions, having clinched their third world title by defeating France in the final of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
