Chippa United, a South African football club, is placing a €2 million price tag on their Nigerian goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, according to reports from IgbereTV.
During the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, Nwabali has been a standout performer for Nigeria, securing three clean sheets in four appearances for the Super Eagles.
Notably, the 27-year-old goalkeeper has garnered attention for his impressive performances with Chippa United throughout the current season.
Union St Gilloise, a team in the Belgian Pro League, is said to be at the forefront of the race to acquire Nwabali.
However, his availability for Nigeria’s AFCON 2023 quarter-final clash against Angola on Friday is uncertain, as he sustained a knee injury in the Round of 16 victory over Cameroon last Saturday.
