Police operatives from the Utako Police Divisional Headquarters successfully apprehended a trio involved in ‘one chance’ robbery.
The individuals, identified as Chukwudi Okorie (51 years old, male), Chibuzor Okorie (43 years old, female), a married couple, and Esther Gabriel (38 years old, female), all residents of Akaraka Gwagwa, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), were taken into custody.
Their arrest is linked to a string of robberies, particularly ‘one chance’ incidents, occurring within the FCT and its surrounding areas.
On Thursday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, issued a statement revealing, “During interrogation, the suspects openly confessed to engaging in a series of ‘one chance’ activities in the FCT prior to their apprehension.”
“A Blue Mazda Car with Reg No. FCT 590 EV, an operational vehicle used by the syndicate to perpetrate their heinous acts, was recovered from one of the suspects.
The Spokesperson added that while the investigation is still ongoing to apprehend other accomplices, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Haruna G. Garba, wishes to reiterate his unflinching commitment to ensuring FCT remain a safe and peaceful place for residents to stay without fair from any quarters of the Territory.
