A Non-Governmental Organization, Odoziobodo Youth Assembly has given some largesse to Ebonyi indigenes with cash, rice, wrappers and other valuables to commemorate the festive season and new year.

The items shared included; a 5kg rice, cash, wrappers among other valuables.

The NGO, founded by Hon. Mark Onu Chopper, a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP who also doubles as the National President Of Odoziobodo Youth Assembly, who spoke on the New year get-together of the Assembly which also happens to be a yearly programme, shortly after distributing the materials, said, ” the beneficiaries were carefully selected across the teeming youth and women population.

It has been our annual project to share New Year largesse to individuals we find worthy across the length and breadth of the State to ensure they enjoy the festive season and at least have something to enjoy the new year, no matter how little. That is our own little way of giving back to society”, Onu stated.

“Today, we shared new year largesse to 300 persons; 150 males & 150 females. Tomorrow, being Tuesday, 9th January, my NGO shall again share 2, 000 bags of rice and numerous numbers of wrappers and plastic buckets to select beneficiaries, this time at the rural level”, the former Special Assistant to the former Governor of Ebonyi State Chief Engr David Umahi further disclosed.

Responding on behalf of the benefactors, one of them Mr Victor Aja appreciated the National leader for the uncommon benevolence and prayed God to bless him and all his endeavours

“Our leader, you have continued to show love and empathy towards the downtrodden and your supporters. This is despite the fact that you are not currently in government or holding any political position. We pray for God’s blessings to continue to rest upon you and your family in Jesus name, Amen.”
