Technician Nabbed For Stealing Four Solar Panels In Lagos

A technician named Emmanuel Achogwu, aged 30, has been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command.

The arrest is in connection with the alleged theft of four solar panels from the Ikosi area of the state on Monday.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the state police, disclosed the arrest on his verified social media handle.

Hundeyin stated that the stolen solar panels were intended to provide power for streetlights in the affected area.

Furthermore, he revealed that the suspect had previously been contracted as part of the technician team responsible for installing the panels in the vicinity, only to later return and vandalize them.

He wrote, “Recently, #followlasg installed some solar-powered streetlights in some parts of the state. A few weeks later, the solar panels were stolen.

“The police were informed and got to work. A few days ago, 30-year-old Emmanuel Achogwu was arrested by officers from Alausa Division on Ikosi Road with four solar panels, moments after he removed them.”

“Investigation reveals that the suspect was one of the technicians contracted to install the solar-powered streetlights. The investigation is ongoing.”
