Same APC who gave ticket to Dave from Ohaozara and fought Linus from Onicha LGA to standstill in the past senatorial election has suddenly realised that it’s the turn of Onicha LGA. The question is, were they not aware that Dave wasn’t from Onicha LGA? If Dave’s victory had scaled through, will they remember Onicha LGA? What if Dave wasn’t appointed a minister and decides to come for the rerun, will APC tell him, no sir, it’s zoned to Onicha LGA? Now, Dave’s brother has declared interest against the will of the party that his brother just left it’s leadership and you think he did without the knowledge of Dave? Well, the zoning is okay if it’s sincere.
However, any zoning that is not micro zoned to the Ezza speaking communities of Onicha LGA is not equity. Let the zoning target the never haves of Onicha LGA; Abaomege, Ishinkwo/Ukawu and Okuzu/Ukawu Wards.
These Ezza speaking wards/communities especially Abaomege ward/community has not produced anything not even ordinary LGA chairman or state House member. The Oshiris have produced a chairman and have been the landlord of Onicha East state constituency and still the landlord.
Onicha igbeze is currently having commissioners after producing the LGA chairman. They have also produced reps and still wanting to produce senator. Ukawu have produced a chairman in the past but never tasted reps or senate. Abaomege has none.
Now, if justice must be seen to be done, the political parties must zone their tickets to the long time marginalised people of Abaomege, Ishinkwo/Ukawu and Okuzu/ukawu wards/Communities even though Ishinkwo and Okuzu are submerged under Ukawu Wards. That they are Ezza speaking does not make them lesser than any other clan, ward or community in Onicha LGA. They have experienced gross marginalisation in Onicha LGA since creation. Anything less than that is a twisted justice.
I am writing as a concerned indigene of Abaomege in Onicha LGA and not as any position political or not. My Name is Eze Onyebuchi from Abaomege community.
