Financial Assistance: LASG Presents Cheques To 103 Indigent Residents

In a continued effort to support the most vulnerable residents of Lagos, the Lagos State Government recently distributed cheques to 103 indigent individuals, aligning with the current administration’s commitment to uplift marginalized communities and provide relief in challenging times.

On Wednesday, at Alausa, the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Abiola Kosegbe, presented the cheques to beneficiaries on behalf of Dr. Tajudeen Afolabi, the Special Adviser, Office of Political, Legislative, and Civic Engagement.

Emphasizing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of indigent Lagosians, Kosegbe highlighted that the funds from this financial assistance program aim to address essential needs such as healthcare, education, housing, and small business ventures for the recipients.

Furthermore, the Permanent Secretary underscored the substantial number of financial assistance requests received daily, emphasizing the meticulous processing required to identify individuals who meet the criteria.

This careful approach ensures that support reaches those genuinely in need, aligning with the government’s commitment to targeted and effective assistance.

Kosegbe averred that people with health challenges are being given priority in the financial assistance scheme to ensure that they get the required treatment for their health challenges as soon as possible
While urging all the beneficiaries to register on the Lagos State Health Management Scheme (LASHMA), she added that the Office is putting plans in place to pre-register all beneficiaries on the Lagos State Health Management Scheme (LASHMA) for maximum and quality health care.

Speaking on other activities of the Office, the Permanent Secretary urged all present to log onto the CitizensGate 2.0 (CGV2.0) Platform and interface with the Lagos State Government by making enquiries, lodging complaints, and giving suggestions as well as commendations.

While explaining how the platform works, Kosegbe further said that the CitizensGate 2.0 (CGV2.0) Platform is tailored towards taking governance to the doorstep of Lagosians irrespective of their social class for all-inclusive governance, bringing governance closer to the governed, delivering political and social benefits to all Lagosians.

The newly appointed Senior Special Assistant to Mr. Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Mr. Saheed Balogun and some Directors in the Office were also in attendance during the presentation of cheques.
