Northwestern part of China has been reported to have been struck by Earthquake on Monday Night the 18th December, 2023.
At least 100 people have been killed and many more injured after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck northwestern China on Monday night.
The majority of the casualties were at the epicenter in Gansu Province, but neighboring regions are also reporting fatalities.
President Xi Jinping has called for an ‘all-out search and rescue effort’ following the quake, with over 4,000 firefighters, soldiers and police officers being dispatched.
Rescue operations are ongoing, although power outages, damaged roads and -15°C temperatures are hindering efforts according to the report.
