The 2023 Accord Party governorship candidate in Oyo state, Chief Bayo Adelabu, has expressed his intention to rejoin the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Having departed from the APC in June of the previous year, the former CBN deputy governor took this step due to his aspiration to vie for the 2023 governorship position under the Accord party, following his loss of the APC ticket to Senator Teslim Folarin.
In a letter directed to the Oyo state APC chairman, Hon. Isaac Omodwu, Adelabu, a prominent figure in the Accord party, conveyed his decision to return to the APC, accompanied by key Accord party figures and his supporters.
Adelabu, who contested and lost the 2019 governorship election against Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party, cited reasons for leaving the APC in 2022, attributing his departure to perceived injustices, falsehoods, conspiracies, and malice.
He urged the attendance of all State Executives, along with Local Government Party Chairmen and Leaders of Oyo APC, at the forthcoming ceremony. The event is scheduled to take place at the state party office in Oke, Ado, Ibadan, Oyo state.
